Fish Cufflinks

Bought these as gift for my Dad. I doubt these really are silver plated as described they dont look it and I also saw these cufflinks on a number of other websites with each describing them as made of different metals so who knows what they are. It was hard to tell from the picture if the dark detailing was simply created by light and shade or if this was painted on. Turns out to be painted on which I dont like and has been overdone in parts. Still Im sure my Dad wont look at them that closely so hopefully hell like them enough.
